The mission of The Climate Academy is to make trustworthy climate education available to learners everywhere, regardless of nationality, background or previous educational experience.
We seek to remove unnecessary barriers to learning while maintaining high academic standards, recognising that meaningful education should be both accessible and intellectually rigorous.
The Climate Academy is founded upon several core educational principles.
Knowledge should be as widely available as possible. Wherever practical, learning resources should be freely accessible so that financial circumstances do not become an unnecessary barrier to education.
We encourage learners to understand evidence rather than memorise conclusions.
Learning should develop curiosity, reasoning and informed judgement, enabling individuals to evaluate new information throughout their lives.
Climate science continues to develop through ongoing research and international collaboration.
Our educational materials aim to reflect established scientific understanding while recognising that knowledge evolves over time. We therefore review and update our courses as appropriate to maintain their educational value.
Learners should be encouraged to question, investigate and evaluate evidence respectfully.

The Academy welcomes appropriate use of digital tools, including Artificial Intelligence, where they genuinely support learning rather than replace it.
We believe technology should assist learners in developing understanding, creativity and independent judgement. Educational achievement should always remain an authentic reflection of the learner’s own knowledge and abilities.
Education should be available to as many people as reasonably possible.
The Academy seeks to design learning experiences that are clear, understandable and accessible across different countries, educational backgrounds and levels of prior knowledge.
We continually aim to improve accessibility as technologies and educational practices evolve.
As an organisation dedicated to climate education, we recognise our own responsibility to minimise unnecessary environmental impact wherever practical.

Education is never finished.
We regularly review our courses, assessments, educational resources and governance to improve quality, accuracy and learner experience.
