The climate crisis is systemic. It is the result of the way our societies operate, fundamentally driven by our continued use of fossil fuels. But why we have not stopped is a Super Wicked problem. Climate change affects every part of society, from finance and food to law, media and landscapes.
What we need is systems thinking and action.

The Climate Academy offers a profound 16 chapter course book and YouTube video series for free. It is loaded with the latest science, cultural and historical details, and written with a philosophical narrative. It opens up the crisis to a systems level in an engaging and provocative way.
After establishing a secure understanding, The Climate Academy mobilises students into the civic space at a local, national or global level. This Civic Engagement can be through Publications or Events. You can either use certified projects or craft your own. As teachers you know that students always learn so much, and at many different levels, when they are engaged in a purposeful project.
The Climate Academy offers a powerful set of Open Badge certificates for each step of learning achieved in the programme. These certificates allow the learner to test, grow, spread and show their understanding. There are badges for Systems Understanding (Pillar 1), Publications and Events (Pillar 2). The 3 tiers of badges, Bronze, Silver and Gold, recognise the different levels of impact. The highest achievement is for Systems Entrepreneurs (Pillar 3).
