We need to move on from the broken, fragmented environmental education that is standard around the world. Young people should be given the full picture through a systems-informed approach. Why do we teach them complex and advanced material in the classroom but then rarely advance their understanding about the environment beyond simple clichés about recycling, reducing plastics or waste.

The Climate Academy offers a profound 16-chapter educational course book. It is packed with science, clear metaphors and engaging philosophy. One chapter at a time, the book opens up the crisis to a systems level for both teachers and students.
After establishing a secure understanding, the Climate Academy mobilises students into the civic space at a local, national or global level. We offer schools and students the blueprints and network to implement projects with leverage and depth. Students are also empowered to publish systems informed media.
The Climate Academy offers a powerful set of Open Badge certificates for each step of learning achieved in the programme. These certificates demonstrate some of the deep skills that are most prized by leading universities. The Open Badge format enables you to embed evidence into the certificate itself, so your achievements can be made truly visible. There are badges for Systems Understanding (Pillar 1), Publications and Events (Pillar 2). The 3 tiers of badges, Bronze, Silver and Gold, recognise the different levels of impact. The highest achievement is for Systems Entrepreneurs (Pillar 3).

It explores Earth Systems, and all the human systems that depend on them, from the economic to the political and social. It pulls together everything, from physics to psychology, and from fossil fuels to Freud. Our modern education systems only allow students to get a fragmented, superficial understanding of the crisis. This programme enables you to go deep, and to act deep.
In collaboration with experts at “Semantic Climate”, The Climate Academy is developing a reliable AI bot that is only plugged into the most reliable science and data on sustainability.
